the laughter

the adventures

thank you for

the stories

and now

it is time

for me to step beyond

the fallacy

right there

on the top of the tongue

of those lucky shoes

hidden right inside

is a friendly reminder

that went unnoticed

and then one day after the dancing

when lacing up

i saw it

"love yourself first"

oh irony

and i must say that i do

to myself

&

that line that you kept crossing with no regret

it's time to try to mend some of the fences

and rebuild some of these bridges

that you thought better destroyed

or designed as walls

don't worry

i'm not asking anything of you

except maybe a little reflection

separate was a lapse in judgement

which can be changed

and remedied

maybe even cured

perhaps

if that's what is chosen

i choose to live tomorrow

and say goodbye to yesterday

to you
